NitroFix Selected for BIRD Energy Grant to Scale Green Ammonia Technology

NitroFix was selected as one of five prestigious companies to be awarded funding through The BIRD Energy, a joint program of the U.S. Department of Energy, Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, and the Israel Innovation Authority.

NitroFix and its U.S. partner, 1S1 Energy, are to receive a share of $1.5 million in grants aimed at advancing clean-energy innovation.

NitroFix’s breakthrough electrochemical process converts water and air into green ammonia without relying on fossil fuels, offering a sustainable alternative to the carbon-intensive Haber-Bosch process. With BIRD Energy’s support, NitroFix will scale its proprietary catalyst and flow cell system to commercial levels, helping decarbonize global agriculture and industry. The company’s selection highlights the vital role of international partnerships and deep-tech innovation in building a cleaner, more resilient energy future.
